Is there a history to this restaurant - it has been closed - seemingly - for
years and years.

Is anything ever going to be done to it - could is possibly re-open one day?

Just curious as every time I drove past it nothing ever seemed to happen and
then recently some concrete barriers/lumps seem have been put across the
entrance from the main road.

Which reminds me, the other day on 3Sat I saw a British movie of 1939
vintage in which a couple turn into the Ace of Spades roadhouse on the
A3 at Hook and sit discussing their future at a table beside the
swimming pool. The gardens, with their hidden lights, and the underwater
lights, made it all look rather pretty, even in black and white.

Weren't there plans for a service station there at one point?

Of course, this would make a perfect location for a high class night club,
members only. Being on the A3, it would make an easy access, away from
residential area replacement for the Embassy in Weybridge, now demolished
and flats being built on it :-(

I can see it now, neon lights, palm trees... grabbing the attention of late
nighters going to or leaving London. What an opportunity.

Any investors out there to buy and convert?

Steve.

And the top is not a perfect location for follow-ups.

But we've been here before. The Ace of Spades roadhouse on the A3 had
exotic gardens, a heated swimming pool, a dance floor, was open all
night. Like many roadhouses and out-of-town nightclubs, it went TU.

<snip>
Actually, it nearly became a church. The Jubilee Church were in
advanced negotiations but it all fell through. The key issue is about
A3 access. It's only a half mile north of the Wisley Interchange and a
very short distance south of the Painshill exit at Cobham. It's a very
valuable property but there's no access from Byfleet Road. I'm fairly
certain the Hilton hotel (Seven Hills of yesteryear) is the problem
for access. I'm surprised they've never bought it.

Sounds like Ibiza to me !
There was an un-official rave at San Domenico not too long ago, not that
there is such a thing as an official rave, but the police got there pretty
snappy it would seem.
It's a damned shame it's been empty so long though, I always thought it was
haunted and nobody would buy it...
